It’s finally here… the Daytona 500, the official start of the NASCAR racing season. Again this year I’m playing in the pool with the guys from Randy’s shop. This is my third year in the pool. The first year I won $100 for finishing the season in second (out of 27 players) and last year I came in fifth or sixth, which wasn’t any money, although I did get like $20 for having the most first place finishes. Having done this for a couple of years now, my strategy is a little better honed for this year… at least I thought it was. But thanks to David Ragan, my driver pick for Daytona who was flirting with the top 10 most of the race, crashing into the wall and then teammate Matt Kenseth with 39 laps to go, I am in dead last place in the pool after week 1. Good thing it’s a long season.
But congrats to Ryan Newman who crossed the finish line first. Now who would have guessed that would ever happen?
