Project 365

January 2, 2008

So today is the 2nd day of Project 365 — a Flickr challenge in which one must take a photo a day for the entire year, which is actually 366 photos given that 2008 is leap year.

I realized today that this is going to be tough for the next few weeks as I am going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark, which provides minimal opportunity for taking pictures with any decent light. On a positive note though, I did find myself taking an alternate route home from work, looking for possible photo ops, particularly those that may be appropriate for the monthly scavenger hunt. Nothing screamed too loudly today, but were it not already dark, I would have stopped for a few pictures that could have proved interesting. Per this handy sunset calendar once February hits I should have light until at least 6:00 p.m., which should provide sufficient opportunity for some pictures on the way home from work. Until then, I may have to resort to going out on my lunch hour and taking photos around camp.

Today’s photo is a macro of the poinsettia on my desk — the last remaining evidence of the holidays left at work.
